Applying for Admissions

To ensure a smooth entry into the SPAN Division's accelerated college immersion programs, the following guidelines should be observed for high school and homeschooled students:

1. The application form (found below), a copy of any standard testing (e.g., PSAT, SAT, ACT), and high school transcripts should be mailed to our office by the deadline listed on the application for the semester in which the student wishes to enroll. Please note that test scores are not required for admission, but can be helpful in assessing a student's readiness for our programs.
2. The SPAN Division staff will notify you of your acceptance and schedule a one-on-one orientation on campus. 
3. APPLY EARLY! Do not wait until the last minute to apply. Most classes at IU Indianapolis fill to capacity weeks before the beginning of the semester. Your early application will ensure you have the best selection of courses.

The admissions process for SPAN usually takes about one week. Applications will be accepted up to six weeks prior to the actual start date of the semester in which the student wishes to enroll. Applications received after the deadline will be processed for the following semester. Information for homeschooling applicants

Many of IU Indianapolis's schools of study have been recognized and are emerging as nationally ranked programs. These include the School of Nursing, Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Kelley School of Business, and the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. If your student has expressed interest in a specific career or even a general career path, you may be surprised at how close to home a nationally ranked program is located.
